La liposuccion est efficace surtout chez les
hommes et les femmes qui ont des amas
graisseux localisés qui résistent au régime et
à l’exercice. La liposuccion n’a aucun effet
sur la cellulite, la peau d’orange et les
vergetures.

Les régions cibles : les joues, le menton, le
cou, les seins, les zones graisseuses
au-dessus des aisselles, l’abdomen, la
région des hanches, les fesses, la face
antérieure et interne des cuisses, les
genoux, les mollets, les chevilles et parfois
les bras..


C'est la qualité de la peau qui conditionne les bons résultats d'une liposuccion :
une bonne élasticité et un bon tonus contribueront à un bon résultat.

Votre plasticien fera l’évaluation de votre peau et vous demandera peut-être
comment les dépôts graisseux localisés ont réagi à une perte de poids
antérieure.

La liposuccion consiste, par une incision
minuscule (environ 1 cm), à décoller la
graisse et à l'aspirer à l'aide d'une fine canule
à l'extrémité en mousse, branchée à un
aspirateur.

Les risques sont rares et comprennent la
perte importante de sang, l’infection et la
réaction à l’anesthésie. Un engourdissement
temporaire de la peau est normal mais il est
parfois possible que l’engourdissement dure
quelque temps ou devienne même 
permanent.

Il arrive parfois une hyperpigmentation de la peau (pigmentation foncée). Des
vagues, des ondulations ou des fossettes peuvent apparaître après une
lipoplastie. Normalement, l’irrégularité diminue et s’améliore beaucoup pendant
les premiers six mois, mais de petites irrégularités peuvent persister.
Habituellement, la liposuccion n’élimine pas les irrégularités présentes avant
l’opération.

Le port d'une gaine de compression est, en général, conseillé pendant quelque
temps. Il est destiné dans les premières heures, à éviter l'apparition
d'hématomes, puis, dans les jours suivants, à aider à une bonne rétraction des
tissus graisseux restants, et de la peau.

Le retour au travail est habituellement possible dans quelques jours mais vous
aurez peut-être encore de l’enflure et des ecchymoses qui disparaîtront au bout
de quelques semaines.

Une retouche ultérieure destinée à améliorée l’apparence de la région traitée
peut parfois s’avérer nécessaire.
