Locum needed: Newmarket, Ontario: A Plastic Surgeon Locum position is available from May 28, 2012 - July 1, 2013 at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, Ontario. Southlake is a rapidly growing community hospital with a large surgical program, including four plastic surgeons. The hospital has a University of Toronto - affiliated family medicine resident teaching program, and all of the plastic surgeons are involved in mentoring the family residents. Once established, the locum surgeon will have an equal portion of Main OR time, Minor Surgery Clinic, and Hand Clinic time. Weekday call is 1 in 4; weekend call 1 in 8 (shared with two other regional hospitals). Participation in surgical rounds and the plastic surgeons' call group is welcomed. The locum surgeon would be invited to assume the office/practice of another surgeon who is on leave of absence. The Royal Alexandra Hospital is a large tertiary care hospital with a Level 1 Trauma Unit. The Plastic Surgeon’s main responsibility would be directed to trauma care and its sequelae.
